WELCOME TO MRS. STANLEY'S CLASS!
Fifth grade is an exciting year for students. It is the last year of elementary school and a year of change for many students as they become more independent. One of the main goals for 5th grade students is to get them ready for the transition to middle school. With this goal in mind, students are given opportunities to be more independent and to rely less on their parents and teachers for time management and organizational skills.
Even though students are working toward the goal of greater independence, the involvement of parents/guardians in their education is vital to their success. I would encourage parents/guardians to talk to their child about what is going on in school, and to check with them about homework that needs to be completed each day.
If you have questions or concerns about your child's behavior or academic progress, please do not hesitate to contact me to schedule an appointment. I am requesting that we meet in person because I feel I can more effectively answer important questions about how your child is doing academically, or if there are behavior issues, if we meet rather than try to resolve these types of concerns through email. To schedule an appointment, I can be reached via email at [email protected] or through the school office at 375-7001. I will be happy to meet with you before or after school. For routine, non-academic, questions or concerns, I will be glad to respond via email.
